Update!
I wanted to apologize for not updating in a while, though I have been posting some cool videos that I've found.  I'm hoping on making a work-out playlist over the weekend and posting it sometime next week. I've been finding new music to listen to, so I'll hopefully be including some of that in the playlist.
Recent music I've started getting into: M83, Sleeper Agent, Coldplay, The Scene Aesthetic, The Black Keys, Noah and the Whale

This song was stuck in my head all day yesterday, thanks to my sister (who, by the way, gave me over half the music I listen to now).

New Playlist Soon
So since school started, I've been really busy and haven't had time to create more playlists, but I will try to get one up next week!  For most of us, school has probably started, so I think I'm going to make a Study Music Playlist or something.  Personally, I listen to a lot of instrumental music when I study so I don't get really distracted.  Explosions in the Sky and Ratatat are great study music for me.  I do listen to orchestral/classical pieces too, but not as often since the piano music I have tend to be kind of slow (and makes me want to fall asleep).

This playlist is filled with songs with the word 'summer', as well as (mostly) upbeat and feel-good songs that feel like Summer.  If there were one album that would sound like Summer, Gold Motel's album "Summer House" is it.  I included one of their songs in my playlist, but would recommend checking them out if you haven't heard of their songs yet.

Summer Skin - Death Cab for Cutie
My Girl the Horse - Fences
Lake Michigan - Rogue Wave

The Shins
Tumblr media
I recently got into this band and I absolutely love them.  The Shins are an indie rock band formed in 1997.  Though they were formed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, they're now based in Portland, Oregon.  Since they were formed, they have released 3 albums- Oh, Inverted World (2001), Chutes Too Narrow (2003), and Wincing the Night Away (2007).  The Shins plan on releasing a fourth album sometime in 2012.
Great songs by The Shins: Caring is Creepy, New Slang, Kissing the Lipless, Sleeping Lessons, Australia, and Plenty Is Never Enough.

Simple Math - Manchester Orchestra
I've been obsessing over this song recently, so I decided to just throw this up on tumblr. "What if it was true and all we thought was right was wrong?" <3

The Hush Sound
One of my favorite bands of all time, so I thought it might be fitting if we started here.  Formed in 2004 by pianist/vocalist Greta Salpeter (now known as Greta Morgan) and guitarist/vocalist Bob Morris, The Hush Sound is an indie quartet group from DuPage County, Illinois.  Although they are on hiatus now, they have produced 3 albums- So Sudden (2005); Like Vines (2006); and Goodbye Blues (2008). Each album has a unique feel to them, but all have an interesting combination of guitar and piano.
Some fantastic songs by them include: Echo, Momentum, We Intertwined, Wine Red, Honey, and Hurricane.
Bands Similar to The Hush Sound: The Academy Is... Fall Out Boy Gold Motel (Greta's current band) Stamps (Bob's current band) Debate Team (Bob's side-band)
