SAN DIEGO, CA, Apr 23, 2024 - (ACN Newswire) - General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) confirms that its Mojave Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) destroyed static targets in live-fire tests on April 13, 2024, validating the system's battlefield relevance and recording another milestone for the demonstrator aircraft.

GA-ASI partnered with Dillon Aero to mount two of Dillon's DAP-6 Gun Pod Systems onto the Mojave aircraft. Mojave performed seven passes across two flights during the demonstration, expending around 10,000 rounds of ammunition as the UAS shredded a variety of targets.

Mojave and its short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability has built significant interest in the military and aerospace communities. Mojave is unique: a UAS with significant payload capacity that can perform in areas once considered unsuitable for UAS operations. Its ability to take off and land from unimproved landing sites at short distances as well as operate from aircraft carriers - as it did in November 2023 as part of a demonstration with the United Kingdom's Royal Navy - is capturing imaginations and changing expectations about how large unmanned systems can be used.
The live-fire demonstration took place at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona, and was funded via GA-ASI's internal research and development budget.
The Mojave technical demonstrator shares common systems and components with GA-ASI's modernized Gray Eagle 25M, effectively providing an expeditionary Gray Eagle STOL capability. In addition to a wing kit option for Gray Eagle, GA-ASI is planning one for the larger MQ-9B aircraft, which includes SkyGuardian® and SeaGuardian® models.
The actual Mojave STOL UAS with multi-mission payloads will be on display in GA-ASI's booth (#792) at the Army Aviation Mission Solutions Summit in Denver, Colorado, April 24-26, 2024.

HONG KONG, Apr 23, 2024 - (ACN Newswire) - Home InStyle and Fashion InStyle, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), concluded at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre today. The four-day fairs attracted some 24,000 buyers from 100 countries and regions, with a significant presence from Mainland China, Japan, Indonesia, Taiwan and the United States. Global buyers actively participated in the two fairs, proving Hong Kong’s status as the creative capital of Asia.
Sophia Chong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, said: “Home InStyle and Fashion InStyle, held concurrently this year, have effectively converged the latest global trends in home and fashion lifestyle products. The fairs have enticed professional buyers and buying missions from different countries and regions, including renowned fashion e-commerce giant Zalora, Glop Studio from France, Carrefour’s Turkiye Branch, Hometeka do Brasil S/A from Brazil, Hyundai Department Store from Korea and The Mall Group from Thailand. These events have created cross-sector opportunities for the industry. Survey reveals optimistic sales-growth outlook
An independent research agency commissioned by the HKTDC interviewed some 740 exhibitors and buyers. Of the respondents, 64% believe overall sales will increase in the next 12 to 24 months.
Among Home InStyle respondents, 36% identify business leads driven from e-tailing as the most significant business opportunity this year while 42% of Fashion InStyle respondents believe the major opportunity lies in recovering purchasing power from customers.
Home InStyle respondents predicted that kitchenware and tableware (22%) would have the biggest growth potential this year, while simple design (25%), smart home products (24%), and environmentally friendly and energy-saving products (22%) will be the most popular trends. Fashion InStyle respondents identified urban clothing (35%) and womenswear (33%) as having the highest growth potential.
In terms of the market outlook, respondents from the Home InStyle believe sales prospects are promising in the Middle East (89%), Mainland China (79%) and ASEAN (76%) markets. Meanwhile, respondents from Fashion InStyle consider Taiwan (75%), Latin America (74%), and ASEAN (72%) as markets with favourable sales prospects.
Expanding business networks and pioneering new markets 
Home InStyle and Fashion InStyle attracted exhibitors from 17 countries and regions, including emerging markets such as Mainland China, ASEAN and the Middle East. The fairs boasted over 2,200 exhibitors. Aligning closely with sustainable development trends, both fairs featured an extensive range of eco-friendly products. Notably, Home InStyle directly responded to the Hong Kong SAR Government’s newly implemented plastic-free regulations on disposable tableware, offering alternative solutions to industry buyers.
The portable foldable cutlery set offered by the Hong Kong exhibitor, Uphold Living Ltd, was the highlight at Home InStyle as it provides a sustainable alternative to disposable cutlery. Eric Tong, Director and Co-founder of the company, said: “A German buyer will be our sole distributor in Germany and the United Kingdom and placed an order for 10,000 sets valued at US$136,500. We have found potential distributors from Korea, Singapore and the US and potential buyers from Taiwan and Hong Kong. The pre-fair news coverage has also generated four leads from local buyers.” In addition, Saudi Arabian exhibitor, Plastic Manufacturing House Co., made its debut at the fair where it engaged with buyers from South America, Canada, Europe, Morocco, the Philippines, Mainland China and Hong Kong. The company is confident it will strike a HK$400,000 (US$51,000) deal with Moroccan buyers.
Indonesian buyer Mulianingsih planned to procure plastic boxes and glass food containers worth over US$400,000. She said: “At the Home InStyle, I could directly purchase new products from suppliers at lower prices. So I don’t have to rely on Jakarta’s distributors. Through Click2Match, I identified two potential suppliers for plastic boxes and food containers and have already placed sample orders. It was a brilliant idea to co-locate the Home Instyle and Fashion InStyle, that allows me to source fashion accessories under one roof.”
Global fashion buyers flocked in for sourcing, Click2Match fosters business discussions
The Taiwan Creative Industry Development Association brought five brands and two jewellery designers to exhibit at Fashion InStyle. According to Brian Hsueh, a supervisor at the Association, the exhibition allowed them to connect with over 30 potential buyers from Mainland China, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Vietnam and other locations. They estimated they can secure orders valued at over US$200,000. Mr Hsueh remarked: “This exhibition has met our expectations very well, proving it to be an effective shortcut for Taiwanese brands to engage with the world.”
Tze Her Ying, Chief Operating Officer, Saturday Club, visited Fashion InStyle to source items for the Singapore-based online fashion brand specialising in ladies’ wear. She has identified two suppliers and made plan to order approximately 5,000 items, including sportswear like yoga wear, from a supplier within the Athleisure zone. She noted: “I was impressed by the fair, and the Click2Match business matching platform was very useful. It allowed us to identify potential suppliers before even arriving at the event. I highly recommend companies in the industry to visit this exhibition." 
Under the HKTDC’s EXHIBITION+ format buyers and sellers can network through the smart business-matching platform Click2Match after the fairs close.

Citi, UBS, GS view positive on Fosun's core business-focused strategy
HONG KONG, Apr 23, 2024 - (ACN Newswire) - Fosun International (HKEX: 0656) has recently received bullish recommendations from multiple investment banks after announcing its 2023 annual results. On 12 April 2024, Goldman Sachs (GS) issued a research report stating that Fosun’s industrial operation profit reached RMB4.9 billion, up by approximately 20% year-on-year compared to 2022; profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company reached RMB1.38 billion. Goldman Sachs gave Fosun International a target price of HK$4.90, representing an upside of over 13%. Fosun International’s businesses in Health, Happiness and Wealth segments are expected to keep on growing steadily in the future. Goldman Sachs pointed out that although Fosun Pharma was affected by the decline in Covid-related business revenue last year, it expected a sales growth recovery in 2024; Fosun Tourism Group’s attributable profit in 2024 is expected to further improve to RMB321 million on better performance from resort operation and tourism services business; it further pointed out that the insurance business posted a net profit of RMB790 million and the profit from BCP is expected to remain strong in 2024 on elevated interest rate spread.
In its research report published at the end of March, UBS was also optimistic about Fosun International’s strategy of focusing on its core businesses, pointing out that in the future Fosun will continue to execute its disposal plans of exiting non-core assets and concentrate resources on sustainable, predictable and stable core businesses, striving to achieve more efficient resource allocation and profit growth in those areas. UBS believed that with the execution of these disposal plans, Fosun International’s profitability is expected to further improve, based on which it gave a target price of HK$6.30. With the momentum in China’s economy pick up, the execution of streamlining operations and the increasing dividends to shareholders in the future, the valuation of Fosun International will further improve.
Citi Research also issued a report in which it expressed its optimistic views about Fosun International’s market outlook. Citi Research believed that Fosun International’s profitability in 2023 was attributable to an increase in operating profit from the insurance business, a 19.2% year-on-year growth in Club Med’s business volume that exceeded expectations, and better performance in the Asset Management Division which was driven by improvement in the Group’s asset portfolio profitability. The report pointed out that Fosun will continue to look for appropriate opportunities to sell non-core and non-strategic assets and promote future development through synergies amongst subsidiaries. Citi Research gave Fosun a “Buy” rating, with a target price of HK$ 6.30, an expected increase of approximately 57%.

The World Water Forum (WWF) is the largest gathering in water sectors involving various stakeholders, and is co-hosted by the World Water Council and a host city. Held every three years, it has been taking place since 1997, with participants from politics, multilateral institutions, academia, civil society and the private sector.
The Government of the Republic of Indonesia will host the 10th World Water Forum in Bali from 18–25 May 2024. The National Organizing Committee (NOC) is chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut B. Pandjaitan, while the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, will serve as Daily Chairperson.
This year's Forum will be attended by numerous heads of state, with several former world leaders expressing their intention to be present, considering it necessary to attend. These include the former Presidents of Chile, Hungary, Slovenia, Malawi, Sri Lanka, and Costa Rica. The former Prime Ministers of Belgium, Korea, and Bhutan will also be present.

The 10th World Water Forum: Main Themes
The 10th WWF in Bali will carry a main theme of "Water for Shared Prosperity." This gathering of leaders will address and discuss water issues while seeking collective solutions to water governance challenges. The forum will produce a Ministerial Declaration (MD) as a main output, along with concrete deliverables (projects, initiatives, joint actions). 
Indonesia will forward four proposals for the Ministerial Declaration (MD), including the establishment of a Centre of Excellence on Water and Climate Resilience (COE), mainstreaming Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) on Small Islands, and the designation of World Lake Day (WLD). Additionally, the MD will include a Compendium of Concrete Deliverables and Actions, an initiative for the follow-up to the 10th WWF.
The 10th WWF & Expo 2024: Bali Itinerary, May 18 ~ 25
The WWF 2024 opening will take place on Saturday, 18 May at Melasti Beach, with a “Balinese Water Purification Ceremony.” This event, to be attended by 1,500 people, includes Rahina Tumpek Uye (Balinese Hindu ceremony expressing gratitude to animals in human life) and Segara Kerthi (Balinese Hindu ceremony seeking blessings from the sea gods) ceremonies.
The Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park will host the Welcoming Gala Dinner on Sunday, 19 May. The event will be attended by 2,500 people and will consist of 500 VVIP and VIP invitations. 2,000 people have been invited to attend the second location at GWK Lotus Pond.
The Opening Ceremony and High-Level Meeting commence on Monday, 20 May at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), Nusa Dua. This will be followed immediately by meetings between responsible parties for the political, thematic, and regional processes, as well as bilateral meetings with several heads of state. 5,500 participants will attend.
The WWF Fair & Expo 2014 opening will be held at Nusa Dua Hall BNDCC on the same day, Monday, 20 May. The Fair & Expo venues will be spread across BNDCC, BICC, and Kuta Beach.
The sessions for political, thematic, and regional processes will be held from 20 - 25 May. Meanwhile, the High-Level Meetings and Ministerial Meetings will take place from 20 May to 21 May.
The Cultural Night (Farewell) will be held at Taman Bhagawan on Friday, 24 May. This event will be attended by 3,000 participants who will be welcomed and presented with Indonesian traditional food, regional dances, and culture.
Lastly, the Closing Ceremony will commence on Saturday, 25 May, at Mangupura Hall. After this event, participants will be taken on field trips, including the Water Museum in Tabanan, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jatiluwih, Lake Batur in Kintamani, and the Cultural Village in Ubud.

The USDA-APHIS RSR determines that Moolec's genetically engineered soybean, accumulating animal meat protein, is unlikely to pose an increased plant pest risk relative to non-engineered soybeans. Therefore, it is not subject to the APHIS regulation that governs the movement of organisms modified or produced through genetic engineering (as described in 7 CFR part 340).

Through ancient history, South East Asian nations were connected by extensive maritime trade networks. Trade routes such as the Maritime Silk Road facilitated the exchange of goods, ideas, and technologies among the numerous kingdoms and empires in the region.
Regional geopolitical tensions could disrupt maritime activities, impacting communities and millions employed in industrial activities dotted along the shores. Effective risk mitigation and crisis response strategies are imperative for corporations investing and operating in the area.

Brawijaya University researcher develops honey-processing tech

MALANG, E. JAVA, Indonesia, Apr 19, 2024 - (ACN Newswire) - A researcher from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology of Brawijaya University, Anang Lastriyanto, has developed a technology for processing honey that is expected to provide added value to the product.

According to Lastriyanto, his research took 3.5 years to produce powdered honey through an integrated process. "Not many people can create this technology on how to process honey into powder," he says.
The first stage of the research, which was funded by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education Agency, involved developing the initial steps for the honey-processing process and producing a prototype of the tools used.
In the first year, honey was processed using pasteurization and rapid cooling or vacuum cooler methods, he informed. The development of the honey-processing process continued in the second year with the aim of increasing production to an industrial scale.
To increase production, pasteurization was used in processing, but the end product contained foam, indicating that the honey was not of good quality. "Honey becomes foamy when heated, so quality assurance and processing time are not necessarily guaranteed," he explained.
However, Lastriyanto said, through rapid cooling after pasteurization, the problem of foam production during heating was resolved. In addition, the water content in the processed honey was reduced.
Thus, in the two years of research a number of processes were introduced, starting with pasteurization, rapid cooling, foam removal, and water content reduction. The four processes were integrated into a honey-processing technology, or “4 in 1” process.
"4 in 1 is a process of heating, cooling quickly, removing foam, and reducing water," he said. He explained that in the third year of the technology's development, the focus was on producing powdered honey, of which the most important process is formulation.
"In the process of (making) powdered honey, the most important thing is the formulation. We are targeting this formulation for acacia honey. Because breeders of acacia forest honey are facing hardship to market their products since prices have fallen,” he said.
The formulation process was carried out through a gradual process of research and evaluation of results. The formulation, which is currently being patented, was then continued with the heating process of the formulated honey.
Once heated, the mixture expands and then dries into lumps. The chunks are cooled, and then ground into powdered honey. "When exposed to heat, the mixture expands. The honey is protected by the (formulated) ingredients and becomes encapsulated," he said.
Ultimately, in the course of his 3.5-year research, Lastriyanto managed to produce integrated processed honey, powdered honey, as well as a machine to process honey.
In the long term, powdered honey is expected to become a raw material for the industrial sector, both for domestic and international markets. The final product can also be used to supply needs in countries in Africa and Southeast Asia.
