The amount of understanding these two have for each other is amazing. Acts of service is definitely their love language. Not much has to be said, but through their actions, anyone can see how much care, devotion and love they have for one another.

both inspiring each other to be better/keep going
"I'll slash away the titan, you draw it's attention" / "Wait for me to get their attention. I'll act as a bait"
And obviously, "I'm with you" / "Stay with me here!"

Sometimes, my copium is just thinking about these Ackerthings I would have liked to see in the manga/anime:
1. Mikasa thanking Levi for helping her to save Eren from the Female Titan and showing him she was worried about his ankle - I mean, you don't need to be romantically involved to show some concern for Humanity´s Sexiest Strongest.
2. Levi and Mikasa sharing experiences about the "ackerpower awakening" - Like: What did you feel? Did it hurt? Let's see who of us is stronger, you'll lift Armin and I'll lift Jean, ok, now the two of them at the same time...
3. Levi asking Mikasa more about her parents and the kind of life they had - I really think that he was curious about Mikasa's family and probably he never asked bc he understood it was a painful memory for Mikasa... - And Mika asking about his life in the Underground.
4. Mikasa sassing Levi and Levi sassing her back - No context here, just they being sassy to each other for nothing more than their and our own pleasure.
5. Mikasa thanking Levi for having chosen Armin instead of Erwin, apologizing for her insubordination and scanning for injuries
5.1 A TOUCHING AND EMOTIVE HUG - this is something that I have been craved for since the the Uprising Arc. And it's probably the only thing that would have calmed my thirst for Rivamika in the whole series.
6. Levi using the Ackerman surname in canon - Just imagine the whole situation here: Are they cousins, siblings? So Levi is Mikasa's father? - Shut your faces, we're married (lol)
7. A real and exciting Ackerspar session... - I mean, if they changed their weapons in 138, why not?
7.1 Mikasa showing a little concern for Levi after seeing him on that cart sleeping like a baby.
8. Kenny and Kuchel childhood
9. Kenny taking care of Levi - We saw it but I doubt Kenny would have left Levi alone all the time...
10. Levi staying with Mikasa instead of Falco and Gabi, as a partner or family, I don't care, but together...

I’ve been thinking more about Jean’s dream of Mikasa and how it parallels Mikasa’s dream of Eren. And not just how dream Mikasa looks like a blurred Mikasa and fake Eren looks like a mix of Eren and somebody else, even to having a different personality than the real Eren. But also how in Jean’s dream, him and dream Mikasa were living in a big fancy town house. But Mikasa in reality is a country girl at heart. And in her dream, her and fake Eren were living in the country together. But we know Eren has never had an interest in farming, not even in parodies like Spoof. So the Jeankasa and EreMika dreams parallel each other because the person with the crush has this fantasy life of them and their crush together, but in reality they don’t actually know the type of lifestyle their crush actually wants which is actually incompatible with theirs.

Small analysis of the infamous rivamika vs female titan moment
I remember noticing this way back in 2014. Basically, rivamika successfully retrieved eren from the female titan, but Levi's ankle got injured when he tried to save Mikasa.
The following can only be observed in the anime. Look at the gif below. Her first expression shows relief that eren is safe in Levi's arms, but her eyes seem to go down towards Levi's ankle and her expression changes into a more worried one
Then levi continues to ask if mikasa considers eren to be a dear friend of hers. If we just take a quick glance at this without much thought, one might think she is only thinking about eren.
But this scene instantly follows after the moment she stares at Levi's ankle. Mikasa's stutter and loss of words shows that she feels guilty that she acted recklessly and Levi's ankle had to pay for it.
I like how subtlely this is animated, and it really shows that she does care for levi already in their first real encounter.
Tldr: this scene wasn't just mikasa getting shy and stuttery from ereh and the question that was directed at her if she considered ereh a friend. It wouldn't make sense for her to look down at Levi's ankle and then proceed to think about ereh again. It was about feeling guilty for Levi's ankle all along.

I've always felt so conflicted about this as well. Mikasa is literally eren's stepsister. In context, this is way more incestuous than RM, who only share a clan name.
No shade to those who do ship EM. I'm mainly side eyeing the ones who scream incest at RM any chance they can while simultaneously shipping a more incestuous ship. I just smell hypocrisy at this point
Levi never referred to mikasa as his cousin / sibling / child / niece / whatever bs they come up with but you know who grisha refer to as his daughter? 🤧

Why we got this shit ending, an analysis on isayama's mental thought process within romantic shippings
I genuinely believe both eren and levi were once isayama's self insert and Mikasa is based off this one girl he met in a Cafe he didn't dare to approach (this last part is officially confirmed in an interview he did once) . Back in s3, levi was his self insert. Going as far as to sport his hairstyle and drawing levi with his own fashion style for a while in promos.
In the end, it's all about isayama getting the girl in the Cafe, bc we see so much inspiration from his real life in the story. He was bullied by taller and bigger people so he based the titans of of them. Isayama wished to be levi. Short, but strong and respected by everyone including the ladies.
Back in s3, levi was yams self insert. The spotlight was sm more on him and levi was on his way to get the main girl (mikasa) he wanted so badly irl, and damn I'm happy he wrote that arc because he built one of the most interesting and dynamic pair within that season, but then... The arc shifts and perhaps yams grew bitter with the worldlike eren. (all the endless wars that will repeat themselves endlessly, the blaming, the multiple genocides. The truth is, there will always be war, because there will be always be selfish and power hungry people in this world)
So he threw all that resentment that he had for the world into eren. Perhaps this is a dark thought of yams. He definitely doesn't stand behind genocide obv bc there are plenty of characters like hanji who call out how evil and wrong it is. Basically, eren became his self insert now. So he shifted priorities. We see less and less of RM after the sea and we got this shit show of and ending near the end. I definitely believe he had the intention to make rivamika Canon back in s3, only to have changed his mind last minute.
This results into feelings of confusion for us, but I just wanted to say that the connection between levi and mikasa was more than real and u were not blind for shipping these two.
Isayama wanted to replicate this natural love that RM had with em, but failed to do so due to the fact that he changed his mind last minute to self insert himself into eren again. I believe em wasn't meant to happen up until s4. How many times has eren rejected mikasa in the first three seasons? Or that one time yams said that mikasa is just a mother to him?
Long story short, when it comes to romantic relationships in his stories, it's not mutual respect he values, rather he treasures his own perception of self inserts above all else

A short analysis on all the rivamika hate
Now the anime has started, haters are bombarding again in our tag and I like to analyse matters a lot, so here we go.
I notice that haters or EM shippers in general are mostly very young kids, teenagers or just people who happen to watch snk casually without deep diving like RM shippers, hence the RM equals incest remarks constantky (disclaimer, not claiming all teenagers or youngsters are dumb or RM haters, absolutely not. Some of yall are wonderful)
I don't know why I've always felt so at home in this tag. I think many of us share similair values that we find important. RM shippers are usually a bit older and value deep meaning and mutual respect in romantic relationships. We get excited by seeing and appreciating the smaller things between two individuals.
I don't know what it is, but every time I see them together, you can't help but keep looking because they bring the best out of each other (heck, even the haters are deeply obsessed with our ship 😭).
Mikasa becoming independent and trusting individual in s3 with levi and him willing to soften up his hard exterior to guide her. I believe most of us wish to have a bond like that with someone special. Not our problem that most people don't see it. Dang, even the writer did not.

Came across this on IG. Might be one of my fave fanarts I’ve ever seen of RM. 🥺 There isn’t much of their faces showing but you can still feel the tense emotion between them. You can almost hear them crying in each others’ arms and honestly???? That’s??? What they forreal need??? They need to cry and let out their emotions to someone and like I keep saying, only they can fully understand each other’s tears that deeply.
