#im so glad that this isnt ship art :] not saying that i berate anyone who ships them but their relationship goes beyond the boundaries#of how we label relationships if that makes any sense#pride can form in numerous ways and if the devs didnt assign wrath to simeon i genuinely do believe that he'd be assigned to pride#i bring this up all the time to those who know me but when you spend so much time with someone who develop each other's mannerisms#their values and their voice and it merges with your previous eras of identities and blossoms into something new#and it is SO apparent with lucifer and simeon. so very much#thinking about how simeon's isn't as evident to the rest of the fandom and i would provide many examples but the one that sticks out#is the time when he asked for a picture of/with lucifer during his 2020 bday event#thinking about how to photograph ppl is to violate them & to see them as they never see themselves#having knowledge of them they may never have. turns people into objects that can be symbolically possessed#to photograph someone is a subliminal murder & it is a soft murder & reminder of what once was#thinking about how simeon was too prideful to think of lucifer's discomfort of this & how lucifer bended a knee#thinking about their bittersweetness because they KNOW who the other is very intimately and no i dont mean this romantically#but the other is a stark reminder of the harsh reality that they dare dont discuss. they are both passive in their own right about that#sometimes though they really just dont care and i appreciate that bc that is how old friends who have been together for so long#even far apart. should act (as someone with a decade-old friend i speak with often)#anyways o7 sorry for the long tags lmfao no one look at me i dont exist here yet#love the art as always...! they are so soft and sweet :] (shakes them both aggressively in an exasperated manner bc neither of them--#are humble enough to speak. i will leave what i mean up to ur interpretation)#obey me simeon#obey me lucifer

solomon's special dialogue for the new mont blanc item... it is so intriguing that he doesn't think about touching upon his past, or even his present. thinking back to his 2021 birthday ur, i wonder if withholding information regarding how demons used to operate, how he survived and directed his pacts, is because he doesn't wish for the mc to ruminate on the past.
perhaps he doesn't completely trust the mc, either, just as he doesn't completely trust the other demons or angels, despite being on friendly terms with them. this isn't to say that he thinks lowly of them—we've seen how much he appreciates everyone—but it makes me wonder why solomon specifically doesn't wish to reveal things about the present.

as a solomon stan, would this event be worth logging in for, after many months?
definitely not! this event more or less has some degree of focus on leviathan and beelzebub compared to the others despite there being special dialogues for every character depending on who you accept and reject chocolates from.
hope this helps!! you'll probably hear a LOT from me if there is an event with a larger dose of solomon content. hope you're well :]

oh, if i may ask, what were your thoughts on simeon's bday event? i would very much like to know. i haven't played it myself but i'm thinking of doing so, because lately i haven't been motivated enough to actually log in like alot of fans, sadly.
Apologies for responding to this when there's only a few hours left of his birthday event, but I wanted to mention that I was pleasantly entertained! I don't believe anything in the event upset me, even how the other characters acted. Simeon and MC acted very cute together, and none of the cast were ridden in jealousy (save for the inevitable Mammon Moment, but even he didn't make too much of a fuss compared to Solomon's 2021 birthday...).
There's many things I could comment on regarding this event, but I believe they can be saved for general posts. I do want to mention that I find it curious that in Simeon's first birthday event, he was the one instructing others to do things for him, and everything felt a bit distant. Not that it was bad! In fact, it was an intriguing detail to note, but the contrast between then and now is vibrant to me. This year, everyone has nothing but sefless love and direct it to make sure Simeon has a wonderful time. They even brought him to a cafe owned by someone who's a fan of TSL, so everyone brought Simeon over as a surprise so he could see the cafe decorated in Christopher Peugot's honor.
Afterwards, they went to another private cafe where they all took pictures together. Simeon reminisced about Celestial Realm tea when Lucifer poured him a special blend of it.
As mentioned earlier, there fact that there's so much pure love and appreciation for Simeon makes me incredibly happy..! Simeon has always felt distant from most, especially when you consider his role in the story, so reading Raphael say this hits harder. I don't recall other toasts mentioning a year of happiness.
His locked route was exceptionally lovely to read as well, haha ^^ Sneaky Simeon decided to take advantage of the fact that everyone views him as a sentimental, incoherent drunk in order to steal MC away from the party.
He and MC took a selfie together and hung it up on the cafe wall; the pictures are imbued with magic, so only the photo-takers can view their respective photos. I would include all of the other adorable bits that occurred throughout the story, but I hope that this summary is enough :] There's still a few hours left if you wanted to go read!

okay okay i have things to say, though YES i love how satan handled himself after he lost his temper tbh. everything from him losing his temper because of how everyone was treating mc to the end of the conversation with him in his room? chef’s kiss, i am blowing kisses to the chef all the way from the dining room. it was enough to fuel my brain for a while…

peeped here out of curiosity (i know u have good takes and rb good/interesting takes + filtered words don’t work when viewing blogs and i’ve filtered every single om tag ever) and uknow what? while there’s aspects of the (supposedly) satan-focused i greatly enjoyed (mostly as writing inspo and just the enjoyment of the moment itself more than its part in the overall narrative tbh) i was endlessly frustrated by the fact that diavolo got the true highlight. i couldn’t place why the hell it made me so annoyed but you’re right—the real main character of the story was diavolo and it annoys the hell out of me that satan was painted as more of the bad guy. despite having the most screen time, satan felt like he was simply a means to an end, with the end being some way to show/remind the audience all of diavolo’s princely qualities that often get sidelines in favor of his usual behavior in events.
like. i greatly enjoyed seeing satan lose his shit to the point of terrifying crowds of demons. i liked seeing him lock himself away after to try and process everything by himself. the bits of vulnerability when mc finally manages to speak to him? love. (not that much of it is actually new info but i do enjoy that it’s there)
but the rest of everything else has me pulling at my hair. especially the ending… i wanted mc to ask for something that would be primarily to satan’s benefit after all the bullshit that happened. (and also satan thanking diavolo for giving mc his stars felt… idk. it felt like it encapsulated how a lot of the story key part felt; reminding us that diavolo’s the actual ‘hero’ here and not satan.)
ahdksjakdja so yknow. just some thoughts i wanted to send you. i didnt wanna log into my om blog even though i probably should for thoughts like this >.>;; once again a majority of my real fun came from rewriting everything, which i guess is something since almost all of the non-bday om content for the last several months hasn’t even gotten me inspired enough to bother rewriting anything.

to validate what you mentioned, i also only enjoyed snippets of that event (though as we know, it's been like this for most obey me events for a long time); diavolo aside, witnessing satan compose himself with such sincerity and generousity felt like a blessing tbh. he knows his limits, he knows what upsets him and he should be listened to, even if he gets emotional about it. so what! most of us become emotional when defending something we hold close to our hearts, and satan was no different.
i've said this in the other ask you sent, but you came back right on time as the new lore-focused obm game has been announced! satan was one of their focal points that they mentioned, as well as lore surrounding the (pre & post) celestial realm, solomon, and the attic. it's gotten the entire fandom riled up including myself, and everything looks promising so far :)
i was wondering why the spacing between events in-game have been getting longer and longer, and i'm glad to know it's because they're putting importance on quality over quantity. they began making baby steps in the previous "single character-focused" events, but i'd like to mention that i am very satisfied with the release of simeon's new birthday event, especially when you compare it to the first one for symbolism reasons.
i won't go in-depth about it now unless someone asks me to share my thoughts, but it was the right amount of promising writing i needed to give me hope. for you specifically, satan didn't delve into any cat shenanegains and when he confronted lucifer & brought up a good point, he was acknowleged and listened to. everyone did such a good job...aaaa <3

okay maybe asks is not the way bc as soon as i hit send i cannot for the life of my remember what the hell i said but i would also like to say that it’s wild how so few people have clocked how simeon is not above using a little bit of trickery to get his desired outcome. and honestly the more i think about it the more obsessed i get and combined with the other things you’ve said abt him, the more the venn diagram of dola and simeon overlaps i think lmao
you came right on time, because he was just as adorably cheeky in his new birthday event; there were times i wasn't so excited over his harmless deceit, but it adds to his charm imo! he'll always be a favorite character of mine ^^
now that the devs are slowly becoming more consistent with their characters in omswd with the addition of their new upcoming obey me game, nightbringer, i'm becoming a bit more hopeful that people will catch onto more accurate portrayals & characterizations of the side characters specifically. i'm unsure if you saw the mv, but i took great notice to how simeon didn't bat an eye when luke grabbed for his clothes...
anyways, i'm surprised that you remembered how i was simeon's unofficial wingman for dolasach! perhaps reading the new birthday event will help you brainstorm more about that if you haven't already? i gushed about it to my friend earlier--i thought it was cute ♡

i love that, out of all the characters, we see solomon smiling with acceptance in a bittersweet fashion after he solemnly looks at his palm. he does not have the same confinements as demons or angels do, and it seems like he is aware of that very fact; unlike the others, he has freedom to change how he chooses to live and view the world.
i'm very excited to see what nightbringer has in store for him.

Spider Pot, porcelain, 2022
The spider pots and crab pots are more angular than the tentacle pots and tend to look more aggressive and intimidating. These are more complex to make than the tentacle pots as the legs are made of multiple parts and if one breaks off it is far more problematic than losing a single tentacle.
